Care Assistant (for Days or Nights)

 Care Assistant (Days or Nights)

Your Role :

To assist in the day to day running of the Care Home, helping  to maintain consistently high standards of care and service to our residents.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Meeting the personal care needs of residents in a way that respects the dignity and privacy of the individual.
  • To provide person-centred care that promotes independence and choice.
  • To promote a caring environment
  • To provide companionship to residents
  • To follow health and safety guidance, and observe the home’s policies and procedures.
  • To assist in securing and sustaining the home for the residents
  • To carry out instructions in accordance with each resident’s Care Plan and under the supervision of senior staff

What you will need:

  • A kind and caring nature
  • A ‘can do’ attitude
  • An  ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Commitment to the Care Sector
  • NVQ Level 2 (Health and Social Care) and previous experience is desirable
  • You must be over 18 and an enhanced DBS will be required

 Chef / Cook

Your Role :

To prepare menus and agree them with our residents and manager, taking into account individual preferences, special diets and foods . To prepare and serve tasty and nutritious meals in a timely manner.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Make up duty rotas for catering staff, ensuring there are enough skilled staff on duty
  • Under the supervision of the manager, order enough levels of supplies for the catering operation from specified suppliers, using Steeton Court Nursing Home procedures and maintain strict control over costs
  • Operate an efficient stock control system
  • Ensure equipment supplied is used with care, in accordance with suppliers’ instructions and training
  • Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any faults immediately. If any machine is felt to be dangerous, withdraw it from service immediately
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
  •  Lead, motivate and direct kitchen staff

What you will need:

  • A knowledge of special dietary requirements
  • The ability to deliver delicious meals in a timely manner
  • The ability to manage a budget and complete required documentation
  • A willingness to take responsibility for your own professional development through performance and
    development reviews and undertake any relevant training

Job Type:

  • Hours : Full time - 7 day cover required, therefore you would be working alternate weekends.
  • Salary : £10 per hour
